Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education (MCIE) successfully promotes effective and inclusive education practices in Maryland by advocating for families, supporting schools in their work to improve instruction and inclusion, and sharing current information on best educational practices.
Maryland's Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) partners with people with developmental disabilities to provide support and resources to live fulfilling lives. The Arc is a non-profit organization that provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Howard County. The Arc provides direct support and services that enable people to lead full rich lives in the community includes being listened to, knowing your choices will be honored, spending the day with the people you choose in the places you choose, and working at a job that is challenging and rewarding.

Respite Care
The Arc of Howard County’s Respite Care house provides a safe, fun and comfortable place for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while their families are away. The Respite Care house provides care for as little as a couple of hours or longer periods of time such as overnights, weekends and vacations.
School Supports
HCPSS promotes the mental health and wellness of each of our students to develop their unique strengths, abilities, and characteristics towards success and well-being.
Every school in the Howard County Public School System has at least one staff member who serves as a Rainbow Representative.
