The Arc of Howard County’s Respite Care house provides a safe, fun and comfortable place for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while their families are away. The Respite Care house provides care for as little as a couple of hours or longer periods of time such as overnights, weekends and vacations.
Everyone experiences transitions throughout their lifetime, no matter how big or small. In the educational environment, the goal of transition planning is to prepare all students, while in school, for adult life. Planning facilitates the smooth transition from public education (entitlement) to adult services (eligibility).
