Welcome to Cedar Lane! Our school is a one of a kind learning environment where our motto is "learning is for everyone". Students at Cedar Lane are learning to communicate, participate in academics, become independent movers, and to build relationships with other students on the Fulton campus. I am privileged to lead a staff of teachers, therapists, nurses, and para-professionals who strive to facilitate learning experiences for our students. As a staff, we value communication, compassion, and positivity. These values are integrated into our daily work as well as in our relationships with families. Cedar Lane is proud to have an exceptional PTA and overall parent involvement. We welcome the community to participate throughout the school year in events such as Basket Bingo and our Walk for our Stars fund-raising opportunities. Please check our website for announcements and details about these events. I am looking forward to a productive school year for our students. - Paul S. Owens, Principal

Greetings! I'm excited to be back in Bulldog-land! I grew up overseas, my parents taking me as far as Japan and Australia. My experiences growing up in other countries afforded me a priceless appreciation of other cultures, languages and customs. After I graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County I went on to earn a Master of Arts from Gallaudet University and then, because I'll never be finished growing and learning, a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University. I live close enough to school that I can literally run home after a day with students. I'm involved in my community along side my husband, kids and dogs. We work with rescues to foster puppies. I don't love running, but I love to be healthy and so I keep signing up for the next race. I can not overstate how much I love the Boston Red Sox and how excited I was to be in Boston when the team won the World Series in 2004. Cedar Lane is truly a place of discovery and miracles. I began my time in Howard County Public Schools as a teacher at Cedar Lane School, then inclusion liaison. After some time at a middle school as team leader I returned to the home of the Cedar Lane Bulldogs. Students here are dedicated to academic achievement and creating a community of support through perseverance and a belief in each other's talents. The staff here are dedicated to advancing the knowledge and skills of our students, keeping everyone engaged and adapting to a changing world. I remain determined to maintain heading toward community collaboration, rigorous instruction and lifting our students' voices. We meet the students where they are and take them beyond their dreams. Start with relationships, belief and the power of "how". Find us on Twitter: @hcpss_cls and Facebook: CedarLaneFulton
