Athletes Serving Athletes

Fri, 09/19/2014 - 10:27am

Cedar Lane has partnered with an amazing local organization called Athletes Serving Athletes (ASA). ASA brings people together to experience the joy, excitement, and thrill of competition. In ASA, volunteers (called Wingmen) help support people with disabilities to train and compete in local races. For athletes with physical disabilities, we push them in a running jogger. For athletes who would like to run, Wingmen will run along side them to keep them safe and engaged.

ASA offers athletic training, supportive relationships, personal development, and social opportunities. We hope to improve physical fitness, increase self-esteem, and empower all of our participants to meet their goals.

If you are interested in finding out how to become a Parent of an Athlete or even a Wingman yourself, please email Christine Brewer: christine_brewer@hcpss.org for more information. Also, take a moment to check out the ASA website for more information: www.athletesservingathletes.org
